一個都不留/無人生還（And Then There Were None）故事背景設定在1939年8月二戰爆發前夕，講述八個素未謀面的陌生人受到自稱「U·N」歐文夫婦的邀請，前往德文郡沿海的士兵島上度假，到達後只見到管家夫婦，主人卻不見人影。每個陌生人各自分配一個主臥房，牆面上瞥到一首童謠「十個小小戰士」，而餐廳桌面上放置了十個小瓷人。

某天晚上他們正在享用晚餐，彼此探聽對方身份時，留聲機突然響起，那個聲音的主人指控在場的所有人都犯了謀殺罪。隨後，一個接著一個，每個人都死於非命，而死因也與童謠歌詞相呼應；剩下的倖存者才猛然明白，兇手就在他們之間……

燻青魚吞剩三個。A red herring swallowed one and then there were three.

三個小小戰士上動物園；Three little Jigaboo boys walking in the zoo;

大熊抓去剩兩個。A big bear hugged one and then there were two.

曬焦一個剩一個。One got frizzled up and then there was one.

吊死了自己，一個都不留。He went out and hanged himself and then there were none.
